Vintage Rolex auction nets $8.5million

April 17, 2008 – New York-based Antiquorum’s vintage Rolex Auction, Revolution: The Evolution of the Rolex Sport Watch, which commemorated the style’s 100th anniversary net $8,515,260.00 in sales.

 

Among record sales were two 1967 Sea-Dweller Submariners which sold for $237,600.00 each; a 1973 Submariner originally issued to the British military, which brought in $166,800.00.

 

The extremely rare Antimagnetic Oyster Chronograph model Milgauss earned $155,000.00, and the top seller was a 1979 Comex Model SeaDweller which fetched an amazing $248,800.00

$238,600 for a watch that is going to get called out as a fake at least once a month.....? :D

 

I like Rollies, but that's silly money.
