Demsey 9 Posted January 12, 2011 Every once in a while I feel like I'm missing something never clicking any sub-forum aside "Off-Topic". So I do. Then I come across a five page thread debating the great "Hamburger-on-a-strap" and I feel I should have just gone to 'jun262' 's page on YouTube. Then I come across a post like this: They can look SO sexy, but NOT with a George Hamilton spray-on tan, there ya go Doc, fixed it for ya and I say to myself; "Yeah, I really should check out 'General Discussion' more." For Chum: Panerai are for the guys who were deprived something in their childhoods and they are making up for it now. Yeah. That's sophisticated. Don't fall for the Emporer's New Clothes. Man. KBH 7 Posted January 12, 2011 and to add the cheapest on the list is $7400 so there is no PAM between $3000 - $6000 as per the list http://www.chrono24.com/en/panerai/pam-183...--id1643935.htm List and selling prices are often two different things. Just for information, this is the first link on Google I clicked. I have seen used 183's as well as others that have gone in the low to mid $3's.
Baldrick 1 Posted January 12, 2011 You need to put your comas in the right place, or count your zeros And you need to come out of your 'coma' @ D1, I'm well up to speed on current horological offerings, however the fact remains, a Panerai 'EOT' Tourbillon hardly equates to : an ETA hand wind movement that can be bought for less than $200 and put it in a $150 case and then put a retail price of from $3000 to over $6000. ...now, does it? The fact remains, hublot take a standard ebauche 7750 and screw the customer over completely, at least panerai have a more varied case portfolio, Hublot give you some different coloured paint on the dial B)

ebzen02 341 Posted January 12, 2011 If there is a brand that DOES screw their customer base of $$$ it is Hublot. What a poor excuse for a luxury brand. Things are horrific!

Aren 27 Posted January 13, 2011 This is my favorite PAM photo ever... Thank you Baldrick ! I just find the Rose Gold beautiful and the photo is fabulous. I also feel that the Blackseal (Radiomir) wears smaller on the wrist. Robert told me this, but I didn't know what he meant until I received mine. It is thinner and therefore looks smaller than it's actual diameter. These are beautiful watches and the quality is great. Perhaps PAMs are not for everyone, but I find them simple and elegant. They don't scream look at me. I didn't originally purchase my PAMs because I was attracted by their beauty. I bought them because I can see the faces of them without reading glasses. After I received my first PAM, I was stunned by how lovely it was. It is just a great watch IMHO. The PAM beauty is subtle. I don't want the first thing someone notices about me to be my watch. I also received many compliments on my PAMs, which I never expected. People don't know what they are and want to look at them. It's funny...but these watches are interesting and people don't find the name intimidating. The looking curiosity and appreciation is genuine even if the PAM is a rep. I do feel that the strap matters. Eventually, I will get nicer straps for my PAMs. I really like PAMs and they are great watches. I think if someone hasn't tried one, they can't really appreciate them. These watches are addictive.
