Baldrick 1 Posted January 12, 2011 @Ernie, nice pics and some lovely straps there, that's what I'm talking about, the Rad is a dress sports watch, in the same vein as a Daytona, you wouldn't put a Daytona on a dockers belt with double rivets, would you, ( no don't answer that, I KNOW there are muppets here who would ), I mean, can you imagine any of these with a bund strap :P

chum_2000_uk 0 Posted January 12, 2011 I must admit, I do really fancy a watch with croc strap and the Radiomir is not too bad I guess. Are there any that are similar to the Radiomir but with different lugs? Not a huge fan of those wire ones

chum_2000_uk 0 Posted January 12, 2011 my new one today, i have got more than 10 pam´s now and i like them all :-) Not a huge fan of the crown guards on these, plus I'd like a chronograph or something like that on the dial. Don't really like that strap either sorry!

SliceMaster 281 Posted January 12, 2011 I think Panerai makes some very good looking watches. Just dont like the "we-have-pams-and-there-for-belong-to-the-cool-kids-club" -hype I see on some of the forums. :thumbsup2:
KBH 7 Posted January 12, 2011 What I don't understand about Pams are two things. First, how they can take an inexpensive ETA hand wind movement that can be bought for less than $200 and put it in a $150 case and then put a retail price of from $3000 to over $6000. And, how can they make apparently over 200 different model numbers out of just two basic case designs. Simple dial changes, PVD, turn the case upside down and call it a Destro, put chrono pushers on it? Still comes down to just two simple designs. What the company lacks in the design department they obviously make up for in the marketing department.
Baldrick 1 Posted January 12, 2011 Yeah, but they don't make it a $13000 watch like Hublot

d1isthe1 0 Posted January 12, 2011 I too did not feel the love for the PAMs but after seeing a few over and over again I need to have one. They are so simple and elegant you can't not like them. Plus, how doesn't love big luminous markers??? well i do feel the same too....

d1isthe1 0 Posted January 12, 2011 Yeah, but they don't make it a $13000 watch like Hublot Panerai do make expensive watches and some of them are even $2,00,000 +

But I've been wearing the 288 for about the last month and loving it. It's the quality of the manufacture as much as the watch itself though. I really don't care for the ugly fat assed crown guard models but the Radiomirs aren't too bad. Their design seems to have a touch of class. Simple and elegant when paired with a good strap.
