thunder92 0 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) My new Bulova precisionist. Gorgeous watch, still deciding if its too big for my comfort. Great watch though. Edited September 14, 2015 by thunder92

RichardMiami 4 Posted September 14, 2015 Now that's unique and got my interest! Richard, more info, more info, PLEZ No worries - it is a Krieger Tidal Chronometer.... and it was my daily beater when I was running fishing boats as a side business - I wore it every day for well over 25 years! The watch tells the time, obviously - the tide is tracked on the upper arc by a ball that rises and drops - in a 12 hour 30 minute cycle. The ball itself reveals the moon phase (which of course affects the tides) and the moonphase is crosshatched when the moon is not visible and solid when it is - look carefully and you can see the crosshatch). The outer bezel can be rotated to track the tide at a second location - so you can track the tide at your home port and at your destination. It keeps perfect time (it's a patented swiss quartz movement) and certified to 20 ATU water proof. It is no longer made, and I have turned down some interesting offers for it - including a "buy back" offer from Krieger! They try to buy them back and sell them to fishermen in Japan, where they sell at a high premium (or so I am told). Doesn't matter though, this watch is NOT for sale.! Thanks Richard, damn that's a fantastic and very unique watch!!! This is the first time I've seen a watch that has a tide/moonphase indicator. Have you found the tide indicators to be accurate? The math says 1990, any chance it's older? Again, very cool watch!
