Mystery Shopper 5,887 Posted September 13, 2015 Go back to the TD you bought the watch from. For repair, it usually means sending the watch back to the TD. Otherwise, send Nick another email and explain the problem. Failing that, as Troy would say, the watch needs to be put down.
andyboy 5 Posted September 13, 2015 Could be the hairspring. try this leave it running face down for at least 12hrs if that doesn`t help then leave it running on it`s side with the crown facing upwards.
RussP 22,402 Posted September 13, 2015 Get a rep-friendly watch smith to try regulating it. Works more times than not. Strange things happen to watches in transit. Russ. PS: Greg's idea may get you out of the soup though
BentleySharp 0 Posted September 13, 2015 WELL YOU BETTER GO CATCH IT! Haa ha ha ha..... yea. lame. I know.
Derek Mc 1 Posted September 13, 2015 If you are willing get the back unscrewed and post a picture it will be evident to many here if the fix is something you can do with the balance wheel adjusters, and they will easily talk you through it.

To regulate +8% sounds pretty uphill to me...
Derek Mc 1 Posted September 13, 2015 True but it might be something obvious when we get a peek inside at it
Kcore 0 Posted September 13, 2015 Perhaps a simple degaussing ( demagnetizing) is what's called for as a magnetized watch can have this after effect of running fast.
RussP 22,402 Posted September 14, 2015 Perhaps a simple degaussing ( demagnetizing) is what's called for as a magnetized watch can have this after effect of running fast. You might be onto something with that observation. As I mentioned, strange things occur to watches in transit.

rikracy 1,693 Posted September 14, 2015 Thanks guys for all the suggestions of possible cause to this fast running prob...I left the watch face down for 12 hrs...then on its side overnight this showed a slight improvement...now running gas 4secs per min!!!..tried it again hoping the pixies would hit it with their magic hammer but sadly not!!! I received message from Nick @ watchrepair who is confident he can sort with a full service @ £90 which tbh I'm happy to pay!!!...rather than go through the hassle and expense of sending it back! He's also going to sort out a dead noob sub I've got too!! I'll keep you guys informed on their progress! Thanks again!!

mujidominic 0 Posted September 15, 2015 I had exactly the same problem with a cheap 21J movement earlier, the little demagnetizer coupled with placing the watch sideways worked like a charm.
