dalboy 2 Posted September 25, 2015 2 years ago Rolex quoted me £1900 to service my 16800, sold it and bought a new one nutters. Guess their attitude is if you can afford to buy one you can afford all the relative costs of ownership... .. same story with high end cars ! Dal.
megaul 1 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) after 20 years of wear i had my citizen prodiver serviced.....90 euros including new batteries at a citizen service center a new set of o-rings some cleaning and waterproof sealed. On to the next 20 years ! All those high end watchmakers can kiss my behind. I like their models and buy reps. I've owned a gen gold omega once, spend a fortune on repairs, while the cheap quartz watches seem unbreakable. I've stumbled on a 70's quartz watch while cleaning out the barn, just cleaned the contacts and gave it a new battery, works like new again including the alarm melody. charging around 600 usd for servicing a quartz omega watch, wtf?!?! Daywatch 4 Posted September 25, 2015 For gens I can advise http://watchguy.co.uk/ .. he also mentioned about Swatch stopping selling parts to private repairmen... Thanks for emphasizing watchguy, never clicked on the link and did not know they did gens. What he writes about the future Swatch Group policy starting 01.01.2016 is a must for every gen-buyer/owner
