This is the same watch from my yesterday's post! Just 10 min after starting the "treatment".

Amazing, right? I've just fixed 2 more pieces that i thought I had kinda ruined. 100% recommended, guys!

all hail a tutorial who's photos weren't hosted by photobucket! 90% of the tutorials that interest me I can't see a single picture. Cheers to u/Gazzla for seeing into the future and not using them

I understand how to use the scotch pad to get the "brushed" effect... but this watch seems to have a shiny finish.  How did you do that?

I have a similar method but if you want to try to keep the desk dive marks out for some time, I use a heat gun and some thick, clear tape. Put the tape over the clasp. Use the heat gun so it forms around the clasp and gets secure. Use a razor blade and run it around the edges. You can barely tell there’s tape on it. This lasts a few weeks before you have to replace the tape.

I’ve had good luck using the Bergeron 5444 ‘blocks’.  Keeps the brushing more parallel vs. the scotchbrite.

B ‘fine’ gives a nice brushed finish that matches my Omegas very well.

After using B, the A ‘very fine’ block provides a slightly smoother brushes finish that matches Rolex almost exactly.

Im a big fan of the bergeon blocks, although I use the non bergeon branded versions. Mine are made by a company called york abrasives although gary flex also make them. Exactly the same product for less than half the price. 240 grit is the fine finish, either 120 or 180 (i forget which) is bergeon medium. Only about £7.50 each, a worthwhile purchase if you plan on doing this more than once. Really gives a great finish. Scotchbrite looks pretty good, the blocks look factory finished.

Another tip for the shiny finish: Cape Cod on a Dremel  :-)

Just make sure to give it a few revs in a cup first, so that most of the juice comes out of the cloth before you use it on the watch.

That's actually a pretty good idea   Well done.

And I see @Gazzla started this thread, haven't seen him in a long time.  Another old name I recognize from years past. Hope all is well.  And happy you're not here to deal with @TheGingerFerret  He's just the worst.
