Navitimer Bezer Replacement - Need Help

Recommended Posts

deadmeat

Hey all -

Got a Navitimer with a Bezel that fell off. Just fell off. Ok, well there are these 4 screws that apparently hold the rotating portion of the bezel to the frame - got it. What I don't get is how to separate this loose rotating piece from the rest of the bezel assembly without destroying the ruler. Was hoping to simply remove it from the bottom without removing the crystal and going in from the top.

Ideas?

I've not done one of these but it might be similar to the IWC 3714 chapter ring and crystal and I've done some of those.

You have to remove the crystal. It's not so bad. I bought a crystal press which was only about £15 iirc. The IWC crystal is held in by a plastic washer round the edge which becomes invisible when the crystal is assembled.

Warming everything up to the point where you can't easily touch it for long (say 65 degrees C) helps a lot to soften the washer.

I have some pictures but not here.

Good luck with finding out how it goes together.
