_DC_ 218 Posted November 19, 2015 Ok it's not perfect, it lacks a moonphase or the correct complications, it has a month subdial but no date subdial, and a bunch of other stuff is wrong too... but I wanted gold, I wanted small, I wanted complicated and I wanted a a Patek... I kept coming back to this so I decided ya know what, it's coming into the DC collection!!! It'll get it's own Camille Fournet strap in the next few months (edited pics above to be ones of it on the CF strap from my 5970) and I may or may not do a review, not sure if there's much point as it's got so many inaccuracies, but it's a really nice piece, interesting shape, 37mm (not confirmed yet but it's definitely small) so suits my smaller wrist and the Breguet numerals are to die for!!! One things for sure, it would never be a keeper on the rep strap, it's horrid! Good looking piece, D. Oh Kleen, thine eyes betray thee, I said it was "virtually a fantasy", I didn't say it WAS a fantasy!! It's a rep of a 5940, just not a very accurate one!! My wife would confiscate all but my wedding watch if she had her way, I drive her nuts changing watches every five minutes, considering she's a woman she doesn't seem to get it (you'd think it was relatable, shoes and handbags and all that)!! CedricWX 1 Posted November 20, 2015 It's becoming less and less important to have a 'perfect' rep IMHO particularly since the display back always gives the game away especially with Patek's. In many cases (Omega comes straight to mind) there are so many variations in their models that it would take a specialist horologist or a really geeky collector to know with any certainty whether your example was gen or rep.
