Not familiar with that.  I guess that is a gen?  I like it.

That is a gen Rich. Not often seen, and when you do, the (aluminum) bezel is all scratched to base metal and beat to hell... That's a very nice example there.

Thanks for your compliments, gents.

I don't wear it often and that picture was taken indoors hence the stark contrast.

It's a rep that I purchased from Jay on this forum sometime ago.

Here's a picture taken in natural light (yesterday) that shows the grey dial, bezel etc: 27265029927_2d5b9b093a_c.jpg

They replicate this model?!? Do the parts interchange? I’d gladly get a gen movement and dial for one of these, although the rep is outstanding!

Other than the date window, it's a pretty good copy.

As for somebody being able to pick the difference, that's highly unlikely given the rarity of this watch.

It totally fooled me!

I found it on Puretime as well. I thought that reference had a one-piece bezel, not a replaceable insert... Maybe I'm thinking of another model but the originals would get all scratched on the edges from general wear. These seem to have a black insert in a black (aluminum?) bezel.

But man, in the darker picture I was totally fooled! Great rep!

These are what I was thinking of. One-piece bezels. I did find two-piece bezel ones but they are stainless (silver color) with black aluminum inserts. NOTE: Second watch posted I believe is a small ladies model. Seconds hand were always painted white. That's an easy mod or just source genuine hands for it.

Still a cool watch!

This seems close to what they were after... Looks like a Rolex style acrylic pearl is a good quick mod.

You take it apart, soak the whole movement in dishwashing soap and water, then rinse it in ammonia, then Ronsol lighter fluid.  Let dry, oil, and put back together.  Unbelievable, but its keeping good time.

No soaking involved.

This one sat in a collectors' safe for all of it's life, until it came into mine:
