niceandcivilized 0 Posted January 12, 2016 Did they finally bring this fantastic watch back? Watchfinder (FatPanda) says that he can definitely get it. Also - look at that rotor / movement! The old reps were handwind I believe. I might just have to take the plunge! Undecided at this point. Here is a link and some pics as well http://watchfinder.p...ageID=253028611
bellross 0 Posted January 12, 2016 I hope so, as it's a gorgeous piece. I've got the older rep, and love it for dressier occasions.
wqleow 2 Posted January 12, 2016 At 39mm, this is a good dress watch size too!

greg_r 94 Posted January 12, 2016 39mm is too small for guys, this watch more suitable for lady.. Don't be a twat. @ niceandcivilized: Yes, that's the newer sixties rep. The old one was too big and handwind. The new one still isn't a super rep - the hands are a little too small (although the photo you've shared looks better than the one I have, so maybe they've improved that) and the gen has a deeply domed crystal, which the rep doesn't. However, it's a nice watch and, unlike the earlier version, it's now the right size. Recommended, so long as you're not expecting 1:
jmshen 0 Posted January 12, 2016 Nice picture, Greg! I really like how the hour markers give off a distinctly different reflection by the angle of the light. (Also the background beads makes it look like your watch is walking down the red carpet)

If so, what is your opinion on the case back / movement decoration? Beautiful watch either way. In the past, every time I inquired about this watch, it was nowhere to be found. It's a shame that for $300, you still won't get the domed crystal with this watch.

In the past, every time I inquired about this watch, it was nowhere to be found. It's a shame that for $300, you still won't get the domed crystal with this watch. Domed crystals are expensive and difficult to produce - so the factories are unlikely to do so for a relatively slow-selling model such as this, (Edit: wrong, wrong, wrong Greg - looks like they did not long after you bought yours, dammit!) . Yes, mine is the newer model. I've had it about 8 months. The caseback and movement aren't going to fool anyone who knows the gen, but they're decently enough executed for a rep in this price range. Don't expect too much - this is by no means a super-rep and nothing like as well finished as the gen, but it's still a nice watch for the money
insert-here 0 Posted January 12, 2016 Love this watch. There was a black dial with gold hands and markers on m2m a little while back, that I kick myself for not getting.
cubicle_monkey 0 Posted January 13, 2016 So tempted by this one, everything is pretty good up to the stick hour markers. Its either me or they just look like cheap pieces of gold-colored foil put on the dial. Also, there is a domed sapphire on this crystal, you can see it in the video posted on replicawatchvideo. Its not quite gen level of distortion but its better than nothing. IMO this is probably as close as you can get. Everything else seems spot on.

For everyone else, skip to :50 seconds in this video, the crystal is very obviously domed. Unbelievable. The backside crystal is also domed as per gen. niceandcivilized 0 Posted January 14, 2016 Just realized Toro has this listed with some great photos. Stick markers are still incorrect (looking very flat here) http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=258&product_id=1960

They seem to have upgraded it since I got mine last summer - both crystal and hands are improved... Mebbe I need to buy this watch a 4th time then (I've had the gen - which was DOA and went back for a refund - the quartz rep and the auto)
black263 229 Posted January 14, 2016 Tempted for the first time in a while. That's a very clean classic watch. (not bothered about closeness to gen - never have been, never will be. I just go for something that looks good.)
Skogstad 0 Posted January 14, 2016 (edited) That is a beauty of a watch! The perfect dress watch, but I hope for a black/blue dial to. 39mm is too small for guys, this watch more suitable for lady.. I have sold all my 40mm something watches and bought smaller watches, I don´t like the rap, big, flashy, bling style. So I am glad that the rep factories are now also making smaller and more classy watches. Edited January 14, 2016 by Skogstad

GenTLe 1,520 Posted January 15, 2016 Apparently there's not much difference between the hour marker in the rep vs the gen (below rep - 2x gen):
