Gen Rolex cases

I don't know if this is the best place for this, maybe it should go in Mods?

I just snagged these off ebay for what I thought was an insane deal. I remember hearing about people building Explorer 1s out of Datejust cases, and I saw "Datejust" and bid.

Stupid.

Now I find out that they are mid-size and 31mm or so.

Are these good for anything? I don't think I can get an Explorer rep out of them, that's for sure.

Here's the URL:Ebay Listing

Also, what size crowns will they take? With my luck, probably not regular Datejust crowns, right?

I should just stick to buying reps...

I'll let you know when I get them... Maybe 31mm doesn't look that small...

In all seriousness, if you want one, let me know.

OK. I looked up factory specs and the 1016/1601 type case (the 1601 is the case that would work for a Explorer) is only 5mm bigger, excluding crown. Now, that sounds like a lot of room, but I wonder...

Would rep dials, which are normally on the small side, fit in here like a glove??

Anyone know the inside diameter of the rehaut area of the 62738?

(trying in vain to make lemonade out of lemons)
