Lev 6 Posted February 25, 2016 Now I've been away from the forum for a while, although I would still browse occasionally and see what people are up to and keep myself updated. Now we all have the watch models we love and admire but what are some models you absolutely hate and why? I'm sure everyone has a watch model or company they absolutely despise, be it for mechanical reasons or aesthetics or what not. My personal watch company is Bell & Ross. I absolutely loathe their designs and every watch I've seen just makes me upset. I could never justify spending 1000s of dollars on such ghastly creations. I understand the principles of their design but still I absolutely hate Bell & Ross. Doesn't mean all the B&R owners should feel shitty. It's just like, my opinion, man. In terms of models, I have so much respect for Patek but I've always very much disliked the Aquanaut. In comparison to all their watches it fits in the least. Even their "less elegant" models like the Nautilus are still incredibly classy despite being more "sporty". I just think the Aquanaut is an unnecessary model in the PP family tree. How about you guys?

greg_r 82 Posted February 25, 2016 "Any reviewer who expresses rage and loathing for a novel is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae. " ~ Kurt Vonnegut Same applies to watches.

Genius 281 Posted February 25, 2016 I'd like to smash loads of watches with a sledgehammer really fucking expensive ones, with exquisite handmade movements and irreplaceable antique hand machined gears, just line the fuckers up and I'll smash them all

_DC_ 218 Posted February 25, 2016 I barely need mention my disdain for the Offshore line of Royal Oaks, it's well documented on here, and I share your disinterest for B&R, but I frankly wouldn't waste my energy on taking a sledgehammer to one, that is madness my good man!! Also, not gonna let you get away with slating the Aquanaut! To not understand its place in the Patek family tree is to not have owned/worn one. If you did/had then you'd understand, they are exceptional watches!! DC

Daywatch 4 Posted February 25, 2016 However ugly the poor watch might be, I just couldn´t smash it to pieces. Just the thought of it is giving me nightmares. Back in the seventies the Newman Daytonas were a candidate for this - that´s why they might fetch a million nowadays.
