Codis 0 Posted March 4, 2016 This was my first rep purchase back in 2008 in Manhattan. My original intention of buying it was to leave it out as a decoy to avoid potential thieves searching for the real thing (I'm a fashion photographer and have models and such in my house often for shoots). Shockingly, this thing is still working just fine after all these years. I remember the guy was selling it for $50 and without even attempting to haggle with him he lowered his price to $40 then $30. I'd consider it a steal! I have nothing to compare it to and have a feeling it doesn't quite have an equivalent gen, but the moon/sun phase at 6 does work as well as the day/date/month dials. The plunger at 3 changes the month and the plunger at 6 changes the date. Can anyone identify the movement? Second hand definitely looks to be 21k beats. JSJ 0 Posted March 4, 2016 The movement is clearly a Patek Philippe. It's written on it. Or it might be a 21j.
myaz 3 Posted March 5, 2016 Congrats on $30 well spent. Hard to believe it still works after 18 years. How often have you worn it? And I'll side with JSJ on the movement.
chase0224 0 Posted March 5, 2016 Yeah, wow what a steal! It seems like 2008 was just yesterday, hard to believe its been 18 years already.

mech500 0 Posted March 5, 2016 Defiantly a gen movement.
krillza91 0 Posted March 5, 2016 I think you need to stop reading about watches and start to read up your math 2008-2016 is not 18 years.
brum123 0 Posted March 5, 2016 18 or 8 years ...either way it's pretty good result for $30 My first reps are knocking on a bit and were as cheap as chips but still going. Some of mine will not win any prizes for 1:1 comparison with any gen but main thing (as so many have said before) ...if you like it ~ wear it Happy days! I used to wear it all the time, the inside of the band is kind of falling apart, cracking and such. But that's an easy fix.
PhillyRock 0 Posted March 5, 2016 2008-2016 = 18 years ??? The Police would definitely question your reasoning if your 18 year old girlfriend was still in middle school. Hell, for a minute there I thought my dating pool just got a LOT bigger!!
trailboss99 988 Posted March 7, 2016 Yup, a rather nicely finished 21j that is. You have done very well there, more than worth the price paid.
