Kong Hee Fat Choy - be kinda gald when it's over....

Am I the only one who will be kinda glad when CNY is finally over (maybe a little bit of residual

jealousy on my part - 'cos in the UK we get 1 day off Bank Holiday and don't make a song and dance

lasting a whole month over the whole thing....)

I used to be an Inspector with the Royal Hong Kong Police Force in the '70s, short-service commission

(like the UK forces), went through the PTS (Police Training School) at Wong Chuk Hang (next to Aberdeen)

and, as far as I can re-collect, CNY only lasted a week to 10 days at most.

BTW the 'reps' in the '70s were pure, unadulterated shit. The 2 most common & popular were the 'Cartier

Tank Francaise' and the Corum ' Admirals Cup'. Both readily available at Temple Street night market in Yaumatei/

Mongkok.

No-one in HK had such a long holiday as our 'authorised dealers'. Not even my favourite bar-girls in Wanchai

(Connie in the San Francisco Bar, or Debbie in Red-Lips).

I want to buy another watch (or 2) and with the exception of Robert (2 beautiful Pams purchased) it

seems our choices are limited.

Anyhow, Roll on the Year of the Bunny and let's hope we all achieve our wants.........

BTW Robert, if you are reading this..... any PAM177s remaining as per Greg's superb review?

Funny you mention it. I just saw a (70's) Cartier Tank on Ebay

and thought it looked like a rep, but was selling as gen.

I am not qualified to make such determinations, but it looked awful IMO.

Robert wasn't affected by CNY, so my watch was ordered and received...

no problems.

All the Best
