My first vintage

Recommended Posts

emameme

Hi guys, yesterday is arrived my first vintage Rolex (perfectclones version, not last Cartel).

I wanna upgrade it, actually it has a 2813 high beat movement and I wanna swap with a low beat.

Can help me to find a movement that can fit?

Then i will upgrade the dial, CG and bezel.

The CG, which one i need to buy?

The crystal is to change?

Some pic of the watch

The movement should be just an high beat 21j. The bezel shouldn't move that way... But I have only dealt with high end reps.and therefore I don't know if that is normal for such category of rep :)

Can't guarantee but most probably a 21j DG2813

It is not a 21j. It is a high beat 28800. The dial feet sit at the ETA position and the hand size is "almost" ETA. You posted this Gentle.

I believe this is the one in the PC. I will know shortly as I have one in the mail. Unless I am way off base the Perfect Clones version is the last cartel. I got mine from Marvelous Replica. It should also not have a clip holding the bezel. It is supposed to be constructed as the gen with crystal retaining ring and clip on bezel and spring.

I am unsure about this though because your stem release looks like a 21J. I've read too many confusing posts. I'll see what I get.

IMO if you're going to do a vintage built and you have a low beat, why not pick up a genuine ETA low beat movement? Then you have the correct beat rate with a gen movement.

I did this with my Tudor 94010 and actually, I just sourced a gen ETA 2772 that I intend to swap into my Tudor, so I should soon have an ETA 2846 available once I have the 2772 sorted and installed. ;)

My problem is that i dont know the height of my movement... Because it can generate a non fit of the stem, right?

There is .7mm difference in stem height between a 21j and an ETA 2824 and the diameters are the same. I'd be surprised if it had a problem fitting. But I'm no expert.

If you want to do a good vintage build, you might want to look at getting another dial and hand set that are more accurate and that you know will fit the movement you select. With a 2813, you are limited by movement selections (although the 2813 is a decent, low beat movement but some are great, some are crap). IIRC you can swap for a low beat miyota but not sure if hands swap out. But going with a replacement dial allows you the option of manufacturers - and there's a few out there - lume and aging options as well.

Doing a vintage build opens up a pandora's box of possibilities (and problems). :)

Can't open the link from Tapatalk but if you are referring to the z2 thread, that one definitively isn't a PoS z2 one :)

Actually I would like to see a video of the running second hand because it may even be a low beat...

This is Dg2813. The most typical 21j with 21600 bph.

Compare it with your movement.

Then decide your self if you want to get an eta that will not fit dial, hands and so on...

You need a pin vise to hold the stem then just screw it off. I suggest you read this https://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/92860-How-to-age-your-Vintage-Rolex-%28Bonesey-style%29

It helped me a lot.
