KBH 7 Posted February 14, 2011 A question for the Pam experts..... I'm just curious and don't know much about Pams but why are the numerals on the two watches so much different? Are the gens actually like this or is one more correct than the other? Nice looking watches, by the way.

deja123 0 Posted February 14, 2011 that´s right different typ of dial
KBH 7 Posted February 14, 2011 that´s rightdifferent typ of dial I understand that. I'm talking about it looks like two different fonts altogether. Particularly the 2 and the 6. But it is what it is, I suppose. Panerai's are still somewhat of a mystery to me.

The sausage dials look a little more 'rounded' presumably due to the thickness of the lume/paint used to create the numerals. There have also been some minor changes to both styles of dial over the years, so there's enough variation to be a tad confusing. In terms of accuracy, the 177 (sandwich dial on the left) is pretty much spot on (at least mine is by comparison to a gen 111 owned by a friend). Not so sure about the other one as I'm not familiar with the gen in that instance and the angle of the photo makes it slightly hard to tell, but it looks pretty good to me.
