RichardMiami 4 Posted May 4, 2016 *erp*....and I think I just threw up a bit.... A Pan is something you cook with, a Pam is something you tell time with. Wow thanks that was useful actually, he is correct. The watch community refers to Panerais as Pams.... it is a nickname. There are many parallels - for example, the main front of the watch is a Dial and not the face, the windy thing on the side is the crown, etc. What you have there is a fantasy watch. Officine Panerai never made any watch that even remotely resembled what you bought. I was particularly intrigued by the numbering they put on the caseback - designating it number zero of 500... wassup with that? Enjoy it if you like it and fuck the world, but please don't try to pass it off as a real Panerai.. not even close.
Wriggles 12 Posted May 4, 2016 Made of the leftover parts lying around. Horrific. But if you like it you like it, that's what its about, personal taste

Thanks for the lesson and I know its Pam the n is next to the m so that happens its called a typo. Thanks he did tell me it was an homage. I would never pass off a $35 watch as real thats just plain stupid. Kinda like calling it a Pan ;-)

RichardMiami 4 Posted May 4, 2016 Ian One more lesson - there is a difference between a Homage and a Counterfeit (replica) A Homage is almost always un-branded. The word "homage" means to pay respect to. A Counterfeit (replica) watch has the brand name on it. That is what makes it illegal.
BenjaminButton 149 Posted May 4, 2016 Q. What Is this Pam? A. It's not any Pam known to man. Did you do pretty good..... ..... I'd have to say that in my opinion you did bad. Sent from Uranus

RichardMiami 4 Posted May 5, 2016 I always though Sterile Homage = always unbranded, Homage= same model watch/ different brand Nope. If that definition of "homage" was in common use, 75% of ALL watches could be termed Homage. That is just copying good design.

Nikola Tesla 12 Posted May 5, 2016 No, no! All these blokes are completely wrong. That’s a dead ringer for the legendary Pam XIV-I (or XIII for short), which was the pinnacle of Panerai design during the company’s pre-Crimean Baroque period. In fact, it might be a gen. It’s that close. Cheers! T-
