NCRich 13,746 Posted June 15, 2016 Tudor Blue Snowflake - build list Cartel 5512 NOS Swiss 2879 Raffles dial WSO hands Clark crystal and insert I started this thinking it would be an easy project. Getting the cartel 5512 was easy. Ordered the dial from Raffles but they sent the black one by mistake. They actually sent me a black Tudor and a Rolex dial. Told me to keep both and they would resend the right one. That is a month shot. Obtained the movement from ebay and it ran like a charm. Finally caught a break. Put the watch together and tried to thread the crown onto the stem…………..snag. It doesn’t fit as the 2879 threads are tap 9 and the Rolex crown is a tap 10. Back to Google to figure out what to do. Ordered stem extender/converter. Blows another week. Cut the stem too short when I first tried to put it in. I was smart this time and had ordered 5 extra. (you never know) Got it right the second time and finally I have it completed. I’m OK with the dial even though it isn’t as good as a Yuki. For the price it is great. I ordered 2 dials so I can maybe practice with some lume. I’ll get the caseback engraved but that is probably the limit on this. Learned a ton and didn’t screw the keyless.
