TC v6 bezel assembly sitting high?

Recommended Posts

northantsrich

Hi Guys,

I have two TC v6 subs. The gasket that TC is using makes the bezel assembly of the watch fit slightly above the watch case. On a gen sub the bezel assembly is almost flush with the watch case.

Have any of you also found this. If so have you got a fix?

I am thinking of trying to get two gen Rolex 16610 gaskets to solve this issue.

Absolutely awesome rep other than this issue.

You are correct, TCs gasket is too big. Gen uses .8mm gasket. TCs is around 1.2mm. Members have solved this issue 2 ways..

First would be use gen .8 gasket. If no luck finding that, I have used a case back gasket which is a little smaller in diameter then the retainer gasket. You have to stretch it a little bit to get it to fit into the groove. Stretching it thins it out a bit and gives you a thinner gasket!

Hope this helps

Where can I buy these gaskets?

And what diameter is the gasket?

I know this is old tread but this does not diminish WR right? I was driving myself crazy putting retainer back on and could not get it all the way flush but figured it has to be due to the thickness of the oring which was pretty chunky. Other than bezel sitting high this should not affect water resistance right?

Yes you can. TC used a gasket that was thicker than the gen. Basically he could not get one that was the gen sizing (he confirmed it to me ages ago in an email).
