Planemo 0 Posted September 13, 2016 Cheers guys I have asked my bro if he is able to lend me the money, I am close enough to him that the question won't cause awkwardness. He will either say yes or no. I have based this around the fact that the watch is NOT going to be resold under any circumstances, the sole reason being to keep it in the family and pass it down to my son when I am about to pop off. If my bro can't help, then I will be stuck. Selling my few reps might raise 1k but finding the other 3k at the moment will be impossible. I just wish it was a Longines or similar cheaper watch! I'm not buying it for the value, it's for sentimental reasons. That said, if it wasn't worth much I am sure Dad would gift it to me anyway. Oh well, I will let you know how it goes. Bobbylah 135 Posted January 16, 2017 Also remember that ADs are in the business of making money. There have been a couple of posts recently regarding 'trade in' values ADs give. You may be better getting an insurance valuation for 'replacement cost' just to compare.
