Pseudonym 0 Posted September 15, 2016 Just ordered the IWC IW546301 from Tim & in looking to replace the strap. Recommendations beyond those that I know please? Jacob would be the obvious choice for the level of quality leatherwork I'm after. Or do I lose my shit & buy OEM? Will the gen strap fit the case? Thanks in advance for the input. Stewart 0 Posted September 15, 2016 Waiting on a 5001-06 from Tim and I had been debating getting a Santoni. But as they are $500 or so I decided to have JohnG (Nero) make me one with a vintage flair. I intend to wear the watch daily so a sturdy cow leather strap made sense but if you are wearing it as a dressier watch (or wear a suit all day) I would look at CF like DC recommended. For $220 you can get their best alligator straps that are just as well made as Santoni or anything else.
GenTLe 1,503 Posted September 15, 2016 For a good quality/price relation I'd say Mario at Orloff straps. This is one he did for my Safari (with inserts).
_DC_ 218 Posted September 15, 2016 Camille Fournet also do the curved ends to match the gen, shouldn't be as expensive as OEM but will still be several hundred dollars! DC
Cleebeauregard 2 Posted September 16, 2016 I've got an OEM IWC 5007 strap on my 5001 that I found on the bay for $200 very lightly used. I'm probably going to swap this onto a SS ivory dial/ gold marker 5007, since its got the curved ends and pick up a dark grey Santoni to go with the ardoise dial on the 5001. If you watch the bay, you can usually find an IWC strap for around $200. Camille Fournet are also very nice, but hard to procure in the US, and I rarely see them on eBay--

Pseudonym 0 Posted September 18, 2016 Turns out IWC have partnered with Santoni to create the OEM straps...

_DC_ 218 Posted September 30, 2016 She's here.Just awaiting the strap! Looks nice Rob, I really like the design and style of these IWC watches (I've no idea the reference numbers but all the ones like this and the ones with two subdials) but they're just too damn big for me!
