6538 second build

Recommended Posts

NCRich

Parts list was:

Silix case and rivet bracelet

Clark t-21 plexi

Athaya big crown & tube

2879 low beat

2mm spring bars

Raffles dial

Tiger big ball gold hands

I spent a lot of time on the case. Big learning curve with lots of new tools (toys). Didn't fade the insert (yet). Wear it for a while like this. Did age the hands but probably could do a bit more. Still a little white.

The 2879 is a real tank of a movement. Feels like winding a 6497. Really solid movement.

New acrylic pearl

Nice work again, NCR. I especially like the hands. Just as a coincidence, my son turned 14 last month. He wanted to pick out a watch and ended up going with the Tiger Concepts watch that kind of looks like a mix between this watch with the gilt dial and the no cyclops date of a 1665. He's really taken to my collection and it's great to see him asking questions about movements etc.. at 14.

Shit, didn't mean to get chatty and attempt to derail the thread about this beautiful build :D Nice work, my friend.

Those are some good looking chamfers... I mean, awesome build all around, and the added chamfers take it to the next level.

Bravo sir, bravo!

You've done a bloody nice job on that mate! Really lovely build. I would definitely recommend changing the Pearl to an acrylic one though

Just a bit "heads up" with this rivet bracelets.

This one is great.

I've got one (from TD - along with watch) whose rivets were overpolished, so that they didn't hold up good.

QC's was just too dark & blurry to notice. And honestly I didn't see it comming.

I got another bracelet from Lina, but feelig was soar.

Lovely build

Regards

Haltec
