malloc 0 Posted March 5, 2011 Long story, but a family friend was an upholsterer and I came across a heap of leather recently. Thought I'd have a crack at making my own strap. Had a fair few hides to choose from but a matte black one caught my eye. Thought it would go nicely with my PVD DSN homage. I used 4 layers to get the thickness I wanted and left the sides raw because I liked the layered look. It's nice and chunky but the leather is super soft so it's still really comfy. It's the first time I've made anything with leather so I'm happy with the result. Onto the pics!

malloc 0 Posted March 5, 2011 Thanks. The best part was that it only cost me $5 in tools. Already had a metal ruler, craft knife and glue, just needed a hollow punch for the holes.

Legger 0 Posted March 5, 2011 That looks class. Loving the matte finish with the PVD. Not a massive fan of black leather but like that a lot. Good work.
