wat44 0 Posted March 5, 2011 so not self winding - do I just unscrew the rotor screw a little? or how do I get it spinning sufficiently?
pollux1 3 Posted March 5, 2011 Mate you might be better getting someone who has experience working on watches to have a look? If you feel confident enough then why not have a go but it's easy to mess it up even worse, believe me I've done it myself!
sconehead 5 Posted March 5, 2011 ...it may just be the rotor fouling on the movement holder screws or the rotor screw itself is loose. An easy fix if you have a decent screwdriver and a steady hand...just remember to use a toothpick or make sure you wear latex gloves when spinning the rotor, movements don't like greasy fingerprints... KBH 7 Posted March 5, 2011 Or it could be one of the reversing wheels is shot. The whole winding mechanism comes off with two screws and you will be able to see if they are working properly.
wat44 0 Posted March 5, 2011 oops - already opened it up it doesnt appear to be fouling anywhere, nor any loose screws just appears to be tight it needs to be firmly shaken or swirled about to move the rotor - so its basically acting like a manual watch!
