WatchaholicMallorca 2 Posted October 3, 2016 New Patek 5976/1G marking the 40th anniversary. Made with a white gold case, and diamond baguette hour markers. I get what they are trying to do here but that dial color would look great on the SS version... Thoughts?
Mr_B 2,401 Posted October 3, 2016 I like the colour of the dial

Stewart 0 Posted October 3, 2016 Diamonds and a 49mm case...is Hublot running the show over there now?
_DC_ 218 Posted October 3, 2016 You don't fancy diamonds? Come on, that blue dial is gorgeous.... Personally I think the blue dial looks pretty boring, the 5980 dial is far more dynamic with its aqua tones, that's the whole point of a Nautilus to me, it's a Nautical themed watch! James. 4 Posted October 3, 2016 One on the right for me. Tbh lost a bit of respect for PP with this...
WatchaholicMallorca 2 Posted October 3, 2016 Proof that even the best in the world can get it wrong sometimes!!!! DC True, but the 5711 1P is a nice watch, like all platinum pateks there is s little diamond on the bezel just bellow the 6 o'clock marker that just adds to it. Not something everyone can pull off but still very Patek. Just don't see why the chrono is 49mm. Will now be a watch sported by rappers and 3 foot tall comedians (Kev heart, big fan but wears watches far too big for him.)
WatchaholicMallorca 2 Posted October 3, 2016 One on the right for me. Tbh lost a bit of respect for PP with this... I like them both just the size that is way off. Unfortunately the watch industry is tarnished with special or limited editions....

Time bandit 40 Posted October 3, 2016 Too big for me, a classic chronograph wins outright, leave the diamonds for the ladies,

_DC_ 218 Posted October 4, 2016 Ok, some clarification on this sizing. Most people who quote the size of a standard Nautilus will give a figure somewhere around 40mm agreed? This is because that's the bezel measurement or from 10 to 4. A standard Nautilus actually wears smaller than, say, a Submariner, despite being 40mm too. However if you measure across a Nautilus and include the "ears" it actually measures 44.5mm! Same is true of this one, the 49mm includes the ears!! It's actually 44mm, still far too big for me but probably perfect for a lot of people on the forum!! DC

Use the petty cash don't think the petty cash would cover the rep let alone the gen! Pity they didn't launch the Nautilus a year later in 77 then it would be the same age as myself and have made a nice wee 40th present for me
