2hot2trot 4 Posted October 3, 2016 Looks really nice. Particularly liking the red date wheel with open 6, sets it off lovely with the sec hand. Congratulations.

Congratulations. It's a roulette dwheel actually :-). We had most problems with this part, but I sourced a gen DW for another Role model (3135) which turns the correct way using an gen ETA-movement.. :-)
2hot2trot 4 Posted October 3, 2016 Turned out spot on mate. So you a running a gen 3135 inside? Did yo have the lugs drilled yourself?

Yes, JJ made them to fit gen specs and then inserted gen Rolex spring bars! Edited October 3, 2016 by d4nn4ts

NCRich 13,791 Posted October 3, 2016 That is very nice. Excellent work by JJ. I'm assuming you used this insert? http://www.ebay.com/...hMAAOSwl2pXgGd4 Not a gen, but about all that there is to accomplish this as far as I have seen. And it probably looks way better than any bakelite would. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the dial? You should post this in the vintage section at RWI, they would appreciate it. Enjoy! Will do this ASAP :-) no, actually I bought the bezel insert on auction (mine is slightly brighter IRL and came with a vintage rolex "case" for storage). Will post pics of this later. The dial is from an older rep watch which I don't think is being produced any more.. got it on M2M w the case. Looked at Yuki's before, but I believe this one to be more precise.. Watch this YouTube video of the gen one. We got our inspo mostly from this;
NCRich 13,791 Posted October 3, 2016 Thanks for the info. I'm guessing this one is the base watch: Puretime is the only place I've seen it. Sorry for all the questions, I've been researching this for a build

NCRich 13,791 Posted October 3, 2016 Bezel insert from the bay... The box is a nice touch. These are really nice. I believe that someone has created a mold and is making these by pouring epoxy over some type of insert and then polishing it down. Are the numbers actually 3D or does it just look that way through the epoxy? The effect is really stunning.
Cedric71 0 Posted October 4, 2016 Wow incredible. If you ever plan to sell let me know!
jdog 1 Posted October 4, 2016 Very nice build. Unfortunately there is no way you have a gen insert, I am 100% positive. There are some tells that show it is not. Plus the fact that gen inserts, when they do come up VERY VERY rarely, sell for thousands and thousands of dollars. Very nice regardless OP. Enjoy it.
