sailmarblehead 0 Posted October 29, 2016 Does anyone have one that they are very happy with? I want to get one and would appreciate some input on which V would be ideal...I know its challenging for them to get the shade of blue close to the gen. Any input would be appreciated here. RUSH2112 11 Posted October 29, 2016 I had one. Was the only watch I've worn that garnered any attention so I sold it and went back to the black no date.
RepGuy 108 Posted October 29, 2016 I picked up an oversized Smurf in a trade here, and it has become my daily beater. The blue really goes well with most anything casual and buisness-casual, and I haven't noticed it draw any more attention than a normal black sub. The one I have apparently came from a small operation run by a guy who is no longer in the business, so I can't speak on the factory. I can speak on the Noob V7 I have, and although it's a black date sub.. I have only heard good things about their Smurf offering with the V7. My personal opinion is to go with the Noob V7 Smurf if that's what you're after. If you aren't looking to spend that kind of money, I have also heard that the new SKY line of watches are a pretty good bang for the buck (http://www.pf-818.com/rlss00189-submariner-116610lv-green-2813-p-20536.html), although I don't think they have the Smurf at the time of this post. Mine says hello
sailmarblehead 0 Posted October 29, 2016 You sold it because it drew attention? What were the specs? Noob? movement?
sailmarblehead 0 Posted October 29, 2016 Thanks Rep -- What kinda price tag for a V7? $350 ish? 2836 movement? Connie has one on the site with a Miyota 9015 which I thought looked interesting
RepGuy 108 Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) Thanks Rep -- What kinda price tag for a V7? $350 ish? 2836 movement? Connie has one on the site with a Miyota 9015 which I thought looked interesting I picked mine up from Robbie at Aootime with a Clone 3135 movement. People have mixed feelings on the reliability of the 3135, but it has been nothing short of amazing in my watch. I paid about $400 including shipping and everything.. here's the link to the exact one I bought (http://www.aootime99...3135-64781.html) EDIT: I have seen a few V7's making the rounds in the M2M section over the past month or so.. if you're looking for slightly below 'retail' price, and are willing to wait for one to pop up, go that route. If you want it new, it's a great purchase that holds it's value pretty well in the M2M market Edited October 29, 2016 by RepGuy

sailmarblehead 0 Posted October 29, 2016 Kewl thanks Rep -- I've heard that 3135 get a bad rep because they are difficult to service....but I have no first hand experience with them.. I have a GMT Master II Batman and a non-working chrono Daytona.....I was trying to decide what my next toy was going to be - a GMT Master II Pepsi or a Sub Smurf --- I couldn't decide, so I said fuck it -- I'll just get both........Feeding the new addiction seems easier than starving it
pamman 0 Posted November 20, 2016 had noob and it was great, what did you go with?
johnlogan 7 Posted December 24, 2016 Noob V7 looks very nice. I love my V5 - amazing watch. However the dial is a little purple and the wight is 100g less that the WG GEN.

Jeff10251970 0 Posted December 25, 2016 The smurfs look amazing to me! I am often torn between the smurf and the black dial....Needless to say I really love the smurf!
sailmarblehead 0 Posted December 25, 2016 the black dial sub is the most commonly warn Rolie on the planet......which is the precise reason it will never find its way on my wrist. I think I have seen one person wearing a smurf in my entire life --- It's just drop dead gorgeous, IMO..... The great thing about this rep addiction is that they are all inexpensive enough that you don't have to choose between one or another --- get all that you want. I recently bought 3 GMT Master II's - the Pepsi, the Batman and the black and white bezel and just ordered the smurf. I also bought the Black dial non-working chrono Daytona which is exquisite. My next and most likely final Rolie purchase will be a gray Datejust II with gray dial and green roman numerals...Feeding this addiction is a lot more pleasurable than starving it. Jeff10251970 0 Posted December 26, 2016 A captain of a submarine I was attached to wore gold smurf....I always loved that watch! Therefore I always wanted a blue smurf submariner....
Grey 0 Posted December 26, 2016 (edited) I have a Noob V7 and the bezel or the dial seems off, either the dial is way too dark or the bezel is too bright. Is this normal or is this actually an issue with the Noob V7 that nobody else has mentioned? I'd honestly have second thoughts on buying one of these because it irritates me every time I look at it. The insert has the incorrect color, its fantasy. Dial is ok.
sailmarblehead 0 Posted December 26, 2016 The bezel and dial definitely seem to have 2 starkly different shades of blue.....Did you not see it in the QC pics the TD sent you?
Grey 0 Posted December 26, 2016 The bezel and dial definitely seem to have 2 starkly different shades of blue.....Did you not see it in the QC pics the TD sent you? In QC it looked the same but I assumed it was lighting, in puretimes pictures on their site the bezel and dial are different colours but it's much more subtle. I never knew it was this awful. You do have the option to obtain a new bezel & insert and replace it. If you just get the insert its very hard to change as they break very easy.
sailmarblehead 0 Posted December 27, 2016 Hi Grey, The hazards of buying from a non-TD.........I made this mistake on my first rep --- It's kinda like a right of passage...live and learn my friend. Do you have any idea what factory the watch came from? My guess is that its not from any factory that anyone is familiar with
james3385 0 Posted December 29, 2016 I'm a little nervous, I have a noob v7 coming and I too thought the blue shade difference was lighting. In the display video it seems to change shade as the light hits it and appears to be fairly close in color, no?
james3385 0 Posted December 29, 2016 And I purchased from a TD
Stewart 0 Posted December 29, 2016 This is my V5. The color looks the same to me. It would be a shame if the V7's bezel color is messed up because they fixed the bezel "rings" on the V7.
james3385 0 Posted December 29, 2016 Just found out mine will be delivered today. Will advise/post pics. If there's a major issue, I'll contact TD and attempt to resolve with them.
