brang1 4,042 Posted November 3, 2016 as the title suggests, the Divers watch is such a popular choice, mainly i am betting by non diver types. What is it that attracts so many?

tonyh7 247 Posted November 3, 2016 Funny thing is that divers don't usually use divers watches. Personally I love the style, and also the assurance that I can wear it while doing the dishes with no worries about splashes.

fatarms 7,779 Posted November 3, 2016 I take any watch off when doing the dishes. I wash baby bottles every night and wont even wear my gen Seawolf II (10,000ft) when washing them. Not only is it water, but it's water mixed with surfactant. This decreases the surface tension of water, allowing it to penetrate deeper into crevices and stuff like that (that's why you use it to wash the dishes )
Kleen™ 45 Posted November 3, 2016 They make very practical daily beaters...

peakpower 0 Posted November 3, 2016 I simply like how they look. Wearing a dive watch is like wearing a pair of sneakers... er, or trainers, as you blokes across the pond like to call them. It gives me a recreational and sporty look, even when I'm not doing anything close to being active physically. Don't you realize being an athlete and engaging in any sports activity is consider cool?!! Duh!!
dilip 0 Posted November 3, 2016 I am not too fond of the idea of divers as well. But the reson for me having two submariners, one superocean, two aquatimers and so on, is that 30atm for example does not intend for me to dive into any sort of abyss. Rather that the watch will be able to survive any occasional dive into a pool, an accidental drop, me swinging into any obstacle etc., without having to pay a small fortune for repairing it. My dreamwatch is the email calatrava and I had the chance to buy it a couple of years ago, but bailed simply after discussing whether or not it would survive my living habits... I did not buy it and regret it to this day, but would regret trashing it even more.
