Mr. Genesis 0 Posted November 15, 2016 (edited) Hi everyone! So I finally got my first vintage watch. A 1968 Seiko Skyliner that I bought on ebay for just 89$USD! It looks so much better in person and the watch is unbelievably clean! I can wind it in the morning, wear it all day, go to sleep and it will still be on time the next morning. I'm seriously amazed by this watch. It's also 37mm, so it's the perfect size for a dress watch on my skinny wrist! haha Hope you like it If some of you show interest in seeing better pics of it, I might try to take the time to do a little photoshoot with my camera. This may have scratched my King Seiko itch with the fantastic case shape. Class all round! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
RussP 22,281 Posted November 27, 2016 I'd be happy to buy the first one off you for $90 plus postage ^_^
tonyh7 237 Posted November 27, 2016 Looks great and also great value. I am however a bit suspicious of watches of that age in really great condition. Suggests restoration. I bought a Rado of similar vintage from ebay. I think it may well have started life as more than one watch.
RussP 22,281 Posted November 27, 2016 Nothing wrong with wearing a restored vintage watch. I prefer a spruced up dial, hands, case etc. See this as an example: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Seiko-Champion-Calendar-860-Vinatge-1960s-Manual-Men-039-s-Gold-Plated-Watch-M73-/262720989356?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=kiqrJitElcuI1gOsp7G2Ush2uyk%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
