griffon22 44 Posted December 18, 2016 quite a story behind that one, my Mum bought it for my Father back in the mid 70s, as a gift , he was looking for a chronograph for refereeing rugby matches , after about 6 months a hand fell off , and it was sent back to the jewellers it was bought from to be fixed , however , my father said it never worked right after he got it back , chrono was sluggish and after just a few more weeks of use , a couple of hands fell off , he could not be bothered to get it sorted and its been in a drawer ever since , I did not remember the watch ,but recently he gave it to me and said , here you go , something to play with . I did a bit of research and quickly realized what it was , the crono would not function at all, so I stripped the entire top half of the movement and found the fault , a simple link out of place , everything works now again, the strap its got on is the original strap it came with . its now owned by none other than the great guy "Edwin Owl" its a stunner ,and looks infinately better in the flesh than it does on these photos .
