Cgherrington3 0 Posted December 25, 2016 Merry Christmas to all! Working on putting my xmas gift together. River 3646 case with a molly movement. River sent me stem adapters. But, the stem isn't threaded the whole length and is much too long. Adding an adapter to end the isn't going to help. I recently did a st36 in a 111 and it was just cut, pray, cut, pray, cut, pray, fuck yeah it works! What's the trick with the molly stem? Thanks for the help. BadPickle 2,747 Posted December 25, 2016 Cut the non threaded bit off and join adapters together to get the required length... Or Get a fully threaded stem, eBay or http://www.ussrwatch.net/Crown-and-Stem.html 1.2mm will fit into the river crown

GenTLe 1,501 Posted December 25, 2016 You can use a more common 6497 stem with slight modifications: http://iwanttomakeeverything.blogspot.it/2012/04/molnija-3602-wrist-watch-conversion.html
Cgherrington3 0 Posted December 26, 2016 Modded a 6497 stem, but it's too short. Fuck me dead. Still don't get how the adapters work or I'd give it a go. I have spare molly stem. I ordered a 1.2 .25 die to thread the molly stem. A month from friggin' China. Bastards. Damn case is so shiny. It looks chromed.
BadPickle 2,747 Posted December 26, 2016 Are the stem adapters male onside female the other side? Screw the stem into the female side leaving a longer male side? Post a pic?
Cgherrington3 0 Posted December 26, 2016 The adapter is 1.2 female to 1.0 male. This would be ok if the molly stem was threaded its whole length. You could cut it, add the adapter, then add the crown. IF it was threaded the whole length, mine's not. So you can: 1. Cut a threaded molly stem, add an adapter, or 2. Thread the molly stem with a die, cut it and screw on an adapter, or 3. Buy a 1mm molly stem from the Ukrainians, or 4. Mod a 6497 stem. I bought a die in a panic, but don't think I'm going to use it. Just get a couple stems off the bay. Crack on!
kilowattore 2 Posted December 26, 2016 New fully threaded stems are the way to go. They are 1.2 mm and don't need no adapter to fit a River crown.
