pj1312 0 Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) I would imagine Neil would leave us with something like this: Do not weep for me for I have not gone. I am the wind that shakes the mighty Oak. I am the gentle rain that falls upon your face. I am the spring flower that pushes through the dark earth. I am the chuckling laughter of the mountain stream. Do not weep for me for I have not gone. I am the memory that dwells in the heart of those that knew me. I am the shadow that dances on the edge of your vision. I am the wild goose that flies south at Autumns call and I shall return at Summer rising. I am the stag on the wild hills way. I am just around the corner. Therefore, the wise weep not. But rejoice at the transformation of my Being. im in tears reading this, many thanks. pj Edited January 10, 2017 by pj1312
Dendo 93 Posted January 10, 2017 RIP Neil, I will cherish the watch I got from you, but it will not fill the void, this board is a lesser place now. I hope you had a sense of how much we would miss you before you parted. It all happened so quickly - which is probably the way we would want. Cheers mate, your character has left an indelible mark. MAJ75 922 Posted January 10, 2017 I became aware of him by seeing his wonderful photos, latterly understanding that he also had a real way with words particularly the withering comments against those who incurred his wrath or displeasure. I have learnt many more things about him over the last few days & feel that it would have been great to have known him personally. We will be a poorer community in his passing but its wonderful that he has left a legacy here for us all to look back on remembering him fondly. My condolences to his near friends & family at this difficult time.
g.man 0 Posted January 10, 2017 Big character who will be missed here. Bought from him once years ago and he gave me a discount because I'm from Glasgow. He could be a real class act. RiP Neil g.man
dave47 6,486 Posted January 10, 2017 Good Morning , It is with a sad heart that I regret to say that Neil aka Baldrick, has passed away this morning.Words cannot describe how much im going to miss him, as we all are. Many thanks to all for their words of encouragement, im sure Neil would be humbled by them. Hes away to have a discussion with Christopher Hitchens on the finer aspects of life, religion etc etc etc........... Once again sorry................................................. So sorry to learn of his passing; indeed, as some mates have said, B. WAS a wit who knew how to make people laugh. I also know he was a mainstay on RWG & his absence will be felt. Deepest sympathies to his family and friends. dave

Frankt8242 1 Posted January 10, 2017 He went out with the level of class one would expect from a gent of his stature...may he rest in the peaceful glory he so elegantly earned over the years...His shoes will most likely never be filled....
fatarms 7,777 Posted January 10, 2017 One less curmudgeonly yet knowledgeable bastard on this forum. And it's an emptier place because of it. RIP, my friend.
Piloten 332 Posted January 10, 2017 He managed to definitely make his presence felt from the very beginning of my time here. We went 'round a couple of times and I will miss hell out of him. PJ, I hope you can find a home here, among the folks that he meant so much to. Sadly, -J
griffon22 44 Posted January 10, 2017 I did not know him personally ,but made a point of following his posts, regardless of the content ,he was both brutal and witty at the same time , an exhilerating experience indeed to read his posts , but transgress and he could make you shrink with every stroke of his masterly wit. impossible to replace a member of such stature, R I P. all we can do is remember and soldier on. edwinowl 180 Posted January 10, 2017 We lost a member over on HF recently. Guys clubbed together for a wreath from all of us. Not sure if that's possible for anyone living close to him to organise, few pounds each would do it if anyone is interested ?

Kcore 0 Posted January 10, 2017 Like the man, there were discussions and lessons taught that will never be forgotten How to make a proper cup of tea Why Dickens had a dark sole The enemy within - Kissinger, Pope Benedict and Michael Moore The necessity of free speech and damned the consequence The absurdity of religion Fanatics and fanaticism With your mortal shell at rest, you now are truely free to soar! You will be missed.
_DC_ 218 Posted January 10, 2017 Sad news, so sorry to hear this. It's fair to say I had my share of run ins with Balders over the years (I'm not alone there) but that was always part of the fun with him! The forum has lost a wealth of knowledge and experience today!! Can't end this post any other way... than with several ... unnecessary sets... of ellipses!!
