mark8111 0 Posted January 10, 2017 Ffs...I haven't been on forum for a wee while, I don't have many posts for someone who's been a member for 6yrs but every time I log on first thing I looked for is new posts from Baldrick, spent many an hour reading anything he posted. Always loved his taste in music. As a fellow Scot I always hoped I could meet him for a pint somewhere. I shed a tear when we lost Bowie I'll shed a tear for Neil. Gawn yersel big man. Jagsman 20 Posted January 10, 2017 Sad news but glad his suffering is past. I will miss his posts on many subjects but always admired the breadth of music he spoke about. R.I.P

dalboy 2 Posted January 10, 2017 We lost a member over on HF recently. Guys clubbed together for a wreath from all of us. Not sure if that's possible for anyone living close to him to organise, few pounds each would do it if anyone is interested ? I'm in ... I did ask Paul to let me know the dates so I could pay my respects .. this may be the way to go as a collective from the forum he loved. Dal. Not sure Andy how to work the logistics of it. trailboss99 994 Posted January 11, 2017 Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride. RIP Balders Well said sir and so very much the man himself. Fuck man. This is awful news. Fuck... The very fact someone here for less than a year fells this way say a lot in itself. Me in as well. Dal can you contact Paul and arrange it, If we all send a few dollars to a PP account that should work. Interflora or the likes can arrange the wreath if no one can attend in person. If someone is attending a local florist can do a wreath to be collected.

Kleen™ 45 Posted January 11, 2017 - hmmmm...I'm thinking Ol' Balders would appreciate a bloody good bottle of ouisge more than a withering wreath....after-all he was all about 'the living'...so how about if instead, we all chipped in a few dollars to buy a BLOODY AWESOME rep for 'someone special'...maybe to remember his late uncle B by in many years to come...and for us to pay our respects in a timely manner. Just my 0.02....but I'm in for whatever the majority decides upon....
James. 4 Posted January 11, 2017 Im in for either option. Dal or whomever please PM me and I'll PP off a contribution
Wriggles 12 Posted January 11, 2017 I think you'll find an awful lot of people will be in on that as well. Whatever the decision is count me in. Kleen, as much as you may be right, what would be done with the bottle? He'd probably climb out of the grave and break your neck if you wasted it by pouring it out by his graveside! I didn't really know the man, bar a few posts back and forth in spurious threads over the years, but there are certainly those here who would know him well, and be better placed to come up with a tribute fitting of Neil and that he would appreciate the most. A wreath might be as good as any, but I'm in for whatever it is.
dalboy 2 Posted January 11, 2017 Gentleman I will liaise with Paul and let you know . Those who would like to contribute to a floral arrangement please pm me . I shall get back to you in due course. Dal.
splke 4,388 Posted January 11, 2017 If a floral tribute is acceptable then that is ok with me what about a memorial watch which each year we award/raffle in his name with the proceeds to go to a charity of his family's choice ? the winner would be the custodian of the watch for 12 months ? maybe too complicated for an internet forum but whatever we collectively decide I am more than happy to contribute.
