NCRich 13,748 Posted February 1, 2017 So the wife took my nice TT datejust and developed a new method for overcoming her aversion to automatic watches. She hands them to me and says "here, fix this." She said she wanted an all gold one with diamonds (oh, the horror) and a silver one with a white dial to match her outfits. So I got her these. They are not expensive, 21js but apparently the same case set as BP (markings are the same anyway). I took them apart and they look the same except the 21js use plastic movement spacers and I'm assuming these are mineral glass. Forgot to test them. Some pics cause I think they look pretty good for what they are.
BM284 1,518 Posted February 1, 2017 Nice show and tell rich, much prefer the stainless steel one out of the two! Watch out mate she'll end up with a collection bigger than yours

Watch out mate she'll end up with a collection bigger than yours Yeah, I'd probably wear the stainless one. I'm thinking about playing with some DJs so I wanted to see what the different cases looked like. I am pretty much sure that JMB uses these cases when he makes his vintage explorer and DJ cases. He takes off the markings and drills lug holes in the lugs and machines the bezels to take plexis. But you could just take any dial, movement and hands and put in these. wannashmooze 6 Posted February 1, 2017 Thats a handome pair of rollies man. The crystal does look like mineral glass. The greeish hue on the edge gives it away. Sapphire would be colorless.

NCRich 13,748 Posted February 1, 2017 I like that smooth bezel on that. Did you tell her those beads were going to scratch that watch?
Nikosaldente 630 Posted February 1, 2017 I like that smooth bezel on that. Did you tell her those beads were going to scratch that watch? Hahaha! They're not beads, it's made from a type of string tied in knots.... So it can't scratch the watch! She doesn't wear it any more, she had it for the summer! Cheers!
