Member X 91 Posted March 19, 2011 What budget do you have to spend? If it's something like $1k then I'd get a gen something. Have you thought about a JLC Tourbillon, like the one skathe has? Not accurate to gen but looks better IMO! Or any of the Rolex DJs / DDs / Airkings are pretty slim and well repped, and you could go to a DJII or DDII at 41mm? torobravo 9 Posted March 19, 2011 How about this: It´s ellegant and price is not more than 80USD
Baldrick 1 Posted March 20, 2011 Omega DeVille, stainless steel, 40mm x 10mm with date and perfectly acceptable price point with good well recognised name and beautiful design.
wizawuza 0 Posted March 20, 2011 Another vote for the deville.. I own this one from MR and LOVE it.. so classy!: Oh sorry the URL is: http://www.marvellousreplica.com/Product_D...ID=200910061731
Ska 11 Posted March 20, 2011 Christ thats beautiful Balders!!!! I know I'm an Omega lout but thats a classic dress watch and the band is almost reptilian!! Akira for classic dress watches I'd recommend a Vacheron Constantin Patrimony (The Gen Contemporaine is no.2 on my grail list but for $15,000 it can stay there for a while) Gen MR has some patrimony reps and I know there was a Contemporaine a while ago but it might be hard to find. Baldrick 1 Posted March 20, 2011 The DeVille is a classic, if he's not confined to S/S, there are others to choose from. or you could pick from Piaget / Vacheron / Patek / Longines / Cartier / JLC and others, I'm sure most of these are also available in steel, some of these will fit the bill others won't, hopefully they'll provide some stimulation, all of them IMO are suitable for a present for Dads and Uncles !
