sjb 0 Posted March 18, 2011 Never taken reps through customs, any problems?
Balad1 0 Posted March 18, 2011 Yes, it could be a problem to bring more reps than the one you wear. Even though everything under sun in counterfeited there they get tight about watches, go figure. PS: What the hell are you going to do in Korea this time of year for 2 weeks?

Member X 91 Posted March 18, 2011 I wouldn't take anything you couldn't deal with losing in a street robbery / drunken incident / customs hassles situation!! Oh, Robert was saying the other day that there is a great place for watches in N Korea, super-cheap...

Slim 0 Posted March 18, 2011 Going to Korea in a few weeks, how many watches would you take? Three. A Breitling Aerospace, something mechanical without a date, probably my Zeno Explorer 1 homage, and an Omega Seamaster.
Balad1 0 Posted March 18, 2011 I do know that there a short trips you can book to go to China for shopping from Korea. You might try looking into that option if available. As mentioned before, wear one watch period. Why take chances on your county's or Korea's customs. No less if you bring other knock off items back you don't want to look to suspicious. sjb 0 Posted March 18, 2011 Should be ok to wear 1 watch, bring others in luggage though?
Balad1 0 Posted March 18, 2011 Should be ok to wear 1 watch, bring others in luggage though? No, what if you buy knock off watches, handbags, clothes, etc while there. That combined with the reps you bring from home might throw up a red flag. Finally anything in your luggage is subject to being lost or stolen.
sjb 0 Posted March 18, 2011 Thanks Balad, I'll probably wear a gen & take another in hand luggage.

watcher63 0 Posted March 19, 2011 I've lived in Seoul for over 6 years. Customs won't really bust your nuts at all! They can be strict when coming in, if you look a little "weird" or if you look S.E. Asian. if you are clean cut (white) guy, they will most likely leave you alone. They could care less what you take out of here. There's not kind of checks leaving, and like I said, they won't mess with you coming in. The rep watches suck here. The bags in Itaweon are supposed to be really high quality and the cops look the other way cause they're made here. I've come and gone with thousands of dollars of gold and silver with no prob. Just dress nice and look clean cut. Appearance is everything here. P.S. Why are you coming here for 2 weeks? You'll get bored, unless you really like drinking your face off on the cheap. Thanks for the tips. We just need a break really. We are spending about a week in Seoul,a few days in Busan & 3 days on Jeju. Doing DMZ tour. Are we really going to get bored?
