thunder92 0 Posted March 20, 2011 Anyone have a video or advise on how to troubleshoot this movement? My jacksons homage was doa. Reserve is charged but it won't tick when crown is pushed in. Nor will date change so I think its something in the crown but I'm not watch expert.
MikeMcNair 0 Posted March 20, 2011 open case back, take off bridge, and lets see whats stuck in there OR: send it to me and i'll have a look. i have a TAG Calibre 17 in front of you, but otherwise am open
wizawuza 0 Posted March 20, 2011 6497's don't have a date function... I think?? Also they aren't a hack movement. In other words, crown out or in, doesn't matter, the watch should always be running if it has a power reserve. You sure you have a 6497? also if it's a 6497 it's a hand-wind.. make sure she's got a good number of winds
thunder92 0 Posted March 20, 2011 (edited) It says on the description that it is 6497 unitas handwind. http://www.jacksontse.com/mm138.html Thanks for the help. Don't even know where the bridge is to take off. I assume its the 2 screws holding the oscilating wheels in place? thanks Guys. Edit.true about hack movement crown shouldn't matter. I see around the oscilating part their is a wound wire that is not all that tight also. Edited March 20, 2011 by thunder92
MikeMcNair 0 Posted March 20, 2011 read this carefullu\y, Specification Movement Automatic mechanical 6497 Unitas movement Automatic-winding (power reserve when in motion) Power Reserve 12 Hour (after 5 hours of motion) Hand-winding (help reserving power faster) Personalized oscillating weight 28,800 alternations /hour. wtf? is it an auto or handwind? Drhulee 0 Posted March 20, 2011 Jackson obviously copy and pasted the wrong info, that is definitely NOT a 6497, more likely your run of the mill 21J auto.
