Funniest Mongrel Omega Rep EVER on the Bay

Recommended Posts

Baldrick

So, Chris, how did Omega fukk up and or why is it the world's stupidest rep ?

It looks like a perfectly standard 2599.80.00 but with the bezel from a Titanium 2993.52.91 or 2293.52.00, not uncommon for a customer to request a bezel swap at initial purchase !

Baldrick, that seller needed to hire you or ska for his photographs.

His photos are awful.

Agreed. And duly corrected Baldrick.

I wasn't aware that customers can request a bezel swap, and you have to admit that either the photos are just so truly terrible or he's treated the watch so badly in the 6 months he's apparently owned it that the thing looks like a 20$ canal street fake. (And a fantasy fake at that)

It might be the flash, but that bezel looks terrible in his photos and if it is gen and the owner isn't a deep sea fisherman then I highly doubt it's only 6 months old.

The other things which piqued my suspicion were the lack of receipt/warantee card photos and the quality of the stamping on the lugs. (again this may be due to abuse)

Still if it is gen - I certainly wouldn't buy it in that condition!!

Awesome photos by the way mate.

Agreed, it has that 'saucy' vintagised look :)

As for the bezel, if I had been buying a Seamaster from an AD, I'd definitely have considered a bezel swap, I much prefer the look of a polished bezel, as shown here in some of TTK's gen Omegas, the polished bezels look more classy and expensive, contrast them with the 'satin' look of the BSA, atho' it looks quite good against the polished bracelet, hmmm, I wonder what happened to all of these after his demise, ;)

Mate you should be in advertising!! That's some serious verbal turd-polishing :)

P.S That Seamaster chrono 2599.80.00 in your photos - is it a gen?

I think you meant TTK should have been in advertising, these are not MY photos, I simply copied and pasted them from TTK's Photobucket account :)

Dunno mate, try Robert or Mary, they might still have those, the TTK version was from 2006, not sure if the factories are still making them or even if they are the same, some of the earlier versions of watches were better than current offerings !

Yeah that's my thinking the bracelet on that one looks top-notch - I prefer that dial too compared with the new version with chrome sub style hour markers.

I'll ask about, cheers for the heads up.
