I think i'll setup a website where people can post fakes like this and add explanation why it is so. I have contacts from ebay tech team, so might help them integrate such a service. loksch 1 Posted April 13, 2017 As a noobie...may I ask - How do you know that this a replica ? Are there significant differences that give that fact away? I need to learn the 'ins n outs' before I make any purchases...from anyone...including TD's. Tku

Tku As far as I know, the big tell on this piece is the sunken datewheel, caused by the 7750 movement used in these pieces. It's kinda complicated I've been trying to find a good one with no luck :( Here is an explanation right from the source: http://www.breitlingsource.com/articles_slide_rule.shtml You can't compare those 2: one is a 3/6/9, the other is 6/9/12. On the 6/9/12 7750 there is no sunken date (neither in gen or in reps!), because the sunken date is caused by the transfer gears added to 7750 to move the subdials from the native 6/9/12 to other locations. Here is the gen:
kennycoder 97 Posted April 13, 2017 just check my rep vs gen thread, it explains everything. it's in the breitling section
Hinclimincli 17 Posted April 13, 2017 While no sunken date might not be a synonym of gen, a sunken date is certainly a replica in all cases, isn't it? How do you report these to eBay? I can't find any "report" button...
trailboss99 994 Posted April 13, 2017 Oh look, listing ended, no longer available, wonder why? I'd say that one snuck past them and they are as surprised as anyone.

Diver Dave 0 Posted May 14, 2017 (edited) Anyone know a good link for a vid on how to use the slide rule on this watch??? It's kinda complicated I've been trying to find a good one with no luck :( It's just a log scale on a slide rule. No different than any linear slide rule. The same thing (larger) is the pilots old friend, the E6B circular slide rule. There's a million videos on how to use one for solving just about everything. Google E6B. I still carry one in the jet, as once it's set I can read an infinite number of solutions and can use it one-handed, at arms length. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E6B The area you're interested in is the front of the thing. Go find a Youtube video on them, and find an instruction booklet reprint online. I'm sure there are dozens to choose from.
