dave47 6,505 Posted May 12, 2017 Hi, Gang! It's PAMSDAY again, and for this Pamsday, a new acquisition from The Gate: this $25 Panerai Chronograph with green sandwich numbers. It was an impulse purchase; and I thought: "What the hey! This PAM offering is cheap so let me give it a try." This one is really a great purchase AS WELL AS a puzzle: on the one hand, it's handsome with a shiny case; on the other hand, I believe the case feels like plastic or some light metal -- the tactile sensations from my fingers have gotten weak; on the one hand, the chronograph functions all operate(movement is quartz); on the other hand, the chrono movement employs the new version that seems to be part of an emerging trend among modern made chronos: to wit, the large central seconds hand moves constantly, while the small chronograph seconds hand in the subdial remain static, until the chronograph function is activated; on the other hand, the subdial hands do reset, but slowly. Yet, on the other hand, the lumination on this thing is outstanding and for a few minutes shines like a flashlight (a pic of this is included). The case measures 51mm with the crown guard & 14mm thick. yet, it weighs only 87 grams. The PANERAI "leather" strap is slightly stiff, yet bends and conforms to the contours of my wrist easily. I believe this has to be one of the most incredible buys I've had off of DH Gate; and for now, this PAM cheapie is a keeper.
