I ordered one in HK. He said arroung 7-10 days for delivery. I hope it is true.

Who's this "he"?

looks fantastic, but who really ever uses the chronograph function on any watch, lets face it, they just look pretty

Most of us don't but it's nice to know that on the rare occasion you need to, you can. ;)

I doubt they are available. Dealers tend to be lazy to update their offerings. I have emailed most of the dealers asking if this is still available and each single time the answer was “out of stock”

They are not available. Period. The limited run was sold out and even fewer was bought by forum members, so I heard.

Good luck. I was late to that party and I was only able to get it due to a friend deciding to sell his after he reviewed it. VSF has no more of the movement (which I heard was horrible in terms of yield, that's why they were only able to produce 80 or so units) so even if they wanted to make the watch, they couldn't do it.

Rattrapante (from the French ratrapper - to recover) is called in German a doppelchronograph and is a split second double chronograph movement that would allow you to check lap times of a runner or swimmer without stopping the overall timing.

I belive Rattrapante comes from Itaslian language and means: rapid fire.

No really (I'm Italian). It comes from french word rattrapant, past participle of the word rattraper, which means "catch again".

No, GeNtle knows what he is talking about - 'recapture' or 'catch up' or 'catch again'.

As for Italian, rapid fire (fuoco rapido) is a rarely used term compared to inversione rapida (rapid reverse)

Actually the rugby today saw a great comeback from Italy against Scotland so I should shut up -

+1

Rattrapante is the feminine form of the word "rattraper" that I would translate as "catch up" but "catch again" works too :)

Are you sure you are not confusing with the French word "foudroyante" used for the 1/10sec chrono function found on certain chronograph watches ?

Rattrappante means that you can stop the chrono hands (usually with the @2 button) and if you press later the @4 button  the hands will jump to the running time. It is uses to see laptime during a run.

So rattrappante is the same as split second chrono or doppelgraph?

Ha ha - we are working on both the linguistic etymology and the chronological function at the same time, I think we need to press the #4 button

I'd just go with the 253. Looks very similar (better) and is available.

Well hold off on that PAM253 for now. Someone on RWI posted that he was able to get a PAM213 allegedly from a new batch of watches. If that's true, then good times. :D

Tits has a point - The 253 has always been my favorite PAM.
