the_faz_man 0 Posted May 25, 2017 Here is another option....it is a fantasy model (A Tag Heuer Tourbillon). It is one of the first reps I purchased and I still drag it out of the box every couple of months.
Thelittleprince 2 Posted May 26, 2017 I have owned 8 different tourbys from 8 different brands Lange 1815 is by far the best quality tourbillon out there.... Tho the size is SO WRONG AT 42MM, GEN IS 38MM The best tourbillon out there hands down and i bet my life on it. Quality wise that is, the manual wind was the smoothest as well Vacheron Patrimony Tourbillon would be second place if i had to choose
FL13 511 Posted May 26, 2017 Nomos Orion 38mm Hand Wind. In-House movement. Dressy. Used they go for right around $1000. 38mm with long lugs will wear larger, but won't be big. Great watch but no way in hell you're picking one up for a grand! Cheapest I've seen on the second hand market is $1500. The 35mm on the other hand you might find around that price range... http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=7378003&rid=0#msg_7378003 Literally the watch I took the photo from. $899... IT is possible, you just have to look for it. I've seen 1100-1200 alot.
171796 2 Posted May 26, 2017 the Intramatic is good looking but Seiko, hamilton and Glashutte are not in my interest, rather have no logo than something that sounds like walmart ;) Glashutte is a terrific historical brand, from 1845... Saying it sounds like "walmart" is rather offensive... And about Seiko, a Grand Seiko high beat is an incredible piece of manufacture and goes for ~5/7000US$: I know that they are all historic and offer high quality and innovation etc. But to non-horologists they sound like walmart :) Although Nomos also looks nice and is affordable that name is already a no-go. If I wear a heavy piece of metal on my hand, it has to either look very good, have a fancy brand or an impressing mechanic (tourbillon). Paying $7000 dollars for an unaesthetic Seiko is like having a sign with "I'm a douchebag" on the forehead, at least to normal people. In the context of horology I personally think it's a masterpiece although the brand positioning undermines my need for it. The Omega and Lange really look good. Pretty sure that's the 35mm mate....might be wrong....but given it's a 2012 model and I have a feeling they didn't release the 38 until 2013. Not being a pendant, just happen to own one and watched WUS for over a year before picking one up.
