WatchDog21 3,345 Posted June 12, 2017 So yes, I have been selling off a few of my Seiko watches. I just don't see them getting any wrist time since I just got this beauty. It was time! B-Day is next week and I decided that since I will now qualify for the Denny’s early bird discount or be able to move into certain “age restricted” communities I wanted to mark it with a special watch to keep. Oops, getting off track, back to the watch… No surprises here, it’s a Seiko. I was originally going to get the Tuna SBBN031 but decided to step it up a notch and went for the SBDX017; MARINEMASTER 300. It features a high grade Seiko 26-jewel automatic (8L35) movement which is an undecorated and unadjusted version of the Grand Seiko movement, caliber 9S55 The 8L35 beats at 28,800 bph and has handwinding and hacking features. The 300m water resistant case is treated with Seiko’s DiaShield coating on the case and bracelet. Some specs: Crystal: Dual curved hardlex with inside anti-reflective coating Clasp: Ratcheting Deployment Buckle Case: Stainless steel Diameter: 44.3 millimeters Thickness: 14.6 millimeters Lug to Lug: 49mm Band Material: Stainless steel Band width: 20 millimeters Bezel material: Stainless steel Bezel: Unidirectional Calendar: Date Movement: Caliber 8L35. Seiko 26-Jewel Automatic Accuracy: -10/+15 seconds per day. Water resist: 300 Meters ISO certified Power Reserve: ~50 hours Before I decided to make this purchase I had pre-ordered a homage version from the same maker as my Sharkey Tuna homage (which is a really solid watch). The homage is duly name the OceanMaster by Merkur and is due to ship by the end of this month. I will do a side by side comparison of the two once it arrives but will most likely sell the homage now that I have this. Now on to some pics.

WatchDog21 3,345 Posted June 25, 2017 Congrats mate! I love these mm300 hands. subscribed for the review of homage ;) The release of the homage is being delayed.....again! With that said I have cancelled the order. I am sure it will be a good build once released. The maker of it is the same maker of my SBBN015 homage; the Sharkey. I did a small thread on it here: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=129268&hl=&fromsearch=1 The Tuna homage is fantastic which is why I feel confident that the SBDX001 homage will be as well.
