Tristen 0 Posted June 25, 2017 (edited) I have bought three of this edition in total, two from other trusted dealers. But my most resent purchase from Tim is by far the best and most accurate edition! Truly an awesome watch and a cool factor to where I get compliments all the time. Thanks Tim for great service and a great watch! Edited June 26, 2017 by Tristen

Beetleything 0 Posted June 27, 2017 What is different / better about this edition than the other 2 you got? Where did you get the other 2 ? Just curious as i am after one of these myself.
fatarms 7,777 Posted June 27, 2017 No one knows why this is called the Steve McQueen GMT. He was never known to own one and was never photographed with one on. True story, look it up. Craziness
Tristen 0 Posted June 27, 2017 What is different / better about this edition than the other 2 you got? Where did you get the other 2 ? Just curious as i am after one of these myself. The difference is the bezel font as well as the crystal are the most accurate in a rep 1655. All the marking are also correct including the lugs. This is heavy, feels solid and comfortable on the wrist. The only thing is that the bracelet it came with is from the second generation 1655 that came out in the 80's. I would have preferred the earlier bracelet but this is minor since I have a spare. All in all, Tim found me a great watch at a great price. He is my go-to guy as I feel his attention to detail is top-notch. He also sourced me a Patek-Philippe Aquanaut that is just awesome. My friend who has a real PP Aquanaut could tell the difference. Now he's getting me a Pam America's Cup Edition. He's a great communicator and reply's quickly to my emails. I'm very happy with the service. My first 1655 was also heavy and took a beating. There were many who wanted to buy it not knowing it was a rep, but the flaws were that the font on the bezel was not accurate and the lugs were not drilled. I really like the watch regardless of its flaws and nobody called me out. The second watch, I spent more $$ and wanted a Swiss movement. But the watch I got was light and flimsy, took horrible time, got foggy when it got even a little wet, and the crystal was plexi and scratched very easily. Needless to say, I felt I got a super cheap edition and thought maybe the rep thing was not the way to go. I took a chance with Tim on the Aquanaut and now I'm having fun with this hobby. I might do a franken 1655 with the second watch and change a few parts out if in fact it is a Swiss movement. We'll see... As a courtesy, I don't want to nark the TD out who sold me this watch although this watch was nowhere near a "Perfect Clone". No one knows why this is called the Steve McQueen GMT. He was never known to own one and was never photographed with one on. True story, look it up. Craziness Yea, I feel the same way, but Rolex made it and I think it's a super cool watch that stands out just a tad bit different from the others.

RussP 22,271 Posted May 14, 2018 + 1 for the necro post request. The font on the bezel's 4's are very good.
