Stratoblaster 4 Posted July 8, 2017 I'm curious to know if anyone has any experience good/bad with some of the advertised "18K Yellow Gold Thick Plated (5mils)" I still have a late 80's TT Seiko quartz DJ style, that seen all kinds of wrist time back in the day. The plating is still holding up. Wonder if that would be the case with the better TT reps?

I have a TT Fossil that I wore for years that still looks like new. But then I don't have scratches on my car, my dive equipment looks like new after 20 years, and in general I take care of my stuff. Some of these guys appear to buy this stuff to destroy it.

But was soon scared away after reading through the forums. (I actually kinda baby my watches...just practicing for when I have the gens. ;) I have seen some of the TD's that advertise thick plating. Just always wondered if the stuff from Japan back then was any better/worse/or same as today's techniques. Either way, there are some beautiful watches in this thread, and I have had a few other 'holy grails' that have also come up. :)
Stratoblaster 4 Posted July 8, 2017 I've gotten more interested in two tones lately and was just wondering what you guys have. I've collected a few recently. My first was the blue navi TT I just built this TT Tudor Prince Recently acquired the root beer 1675 I wanted a particular Daydate, but they don't come TT. So MR got TW to build me one. Purists may hate it, but it is my watch. And then the one my wife stole And last and least, got the wife this TT Cartier So let's see what you got! OK, forgot this one. TT DJ II. All these are nice!! :)
