GC 4,511 Posted March 29, 2011 I like it, very Steve McQueen-ish!
KinCaidk 0 Posted March 29, 2011 it's awesome! I like the black hands, black rings around the lumedots and of course the orange details. How big is it? I'm too lazy to search.
greg_r 81 Posted March 29, 2011 Yeah, that's a good looking watch. Too small though - I believe it's still 40mm

It's a combo of the wider lugs and wider crown guard that give the new maxi case it's wrist presence.

tah 0 Posted March 31, 2011 As soon as they rep this (decently) I'm a buyer for both models. We need to let the dealers know we're waiting so the factory will know they will have a good seller!
solkryssare 109 Posted April 1, 2011 I bet the first ones will be 40 mm...........
tah 0 Posted April 1, 2011 Don't think so...... What would be the point? The watch you see doesn't exist in 40mm.
andygt 0 Posted April 1, 2011 The point is they could use existing casesets saving the expense of having new ones machined and people will still buy them. I'd prefer it as a non maxi dial personally

Just sounds REALLY stupid and I'm hoping (my be putting a little too much faith here) the factories and dealers aren't that dumb. I don't know too many people here who talk about the Rolex rep they've bought that doesn't exist, except the fantasy dial combos which still are true to the case size and overall appearance. Just don't see this happening, IMHO...........
andygt 0 Posted April 1, 2011 There are plenty of Rolex reps that have the incorrect case size so it would not be a surprise if they used the gmtiic/ceramic sub case for this one to start with.
Leroy 2 Posted April 2, 2011 love the 42mm size. i say it's just right.
constantwatch 0 Posted April 2, 2011 Steve McQueen never wore a 1655. That was a rumor started by an Italian action house many years ago to sell watches. He owned a 5512 Submariner which he wore in the films The Towering Inferno (1974), and The Hunter (1980). His 5512 sold for a record $234,000 including buyer’s premium at Antiquorum’s summer sale in New York City June 11, 2009.

If they do it sure won't shake any money out of my pocket. I imagine most folks would wait for the 42mm size, just hope it comes out!
