Sometimes all they need is a little polish and a new lizard grain strap to dress 'em up a bit. , Thanks for the compliment. I'm yet to acquire a Raketa. Have a Poljot with an alarm that's so utilitarian that it has remained a box queen since I acquired it. Will post a pic or two later today.

It's comfortable to wear has a nice mix of different features from my favorite watches, has a reasonable WR which I'll be trying out in the pool later and I just like the look. The strap will likely not last long given the asso type surface but a nice Brady will sort that. Have a look at it from the side and see how nice the brushed case looks sandwiched between the coin-edge bezel and case back polished edge, as well as the nicely beveled crystal sits, really does look like a much more expensive watch. I see subtle nods to some of my favourite vintage references and the blend really works well. The textured dial, pencil hands and simple no-crown-guard case like the earliest Rolex Submariners , the mix of red and white raised text from the Rolex red 1680, the bakelite bezel insert reminiscent of the Breitling FF. It just all comes together. And you can't beat your beaches. Cool ;-) Edited December 29, 2017 by DonkeyKong Typos
