Akira 0 Posted April 7, 2011 Pretty easily done with cape cloth. Just remove the movement and polish the crystal from the inside. Before....with fingerprints After Do you feel it's an improvement as well? Cheers Akira
Silverspeed 10 Posted April 7, 2011 the typical blue AR is annoying, that's for sure....on the other hand the PO does need AR imo, so perhaps a trip to fineDD
Akira 0 Posted April 7, 2011 the typical blue AR is annoying, that's for sure....on the other hand the PO does need AR imo, so perhaps a trip to fineDD Totally agree SS...but I don't find it reflecting much more than with the blueish AR. The rep AR is just crap. I'll send the watch to finedd sometime, but relume and modding the pearl is first. Here updated pics with polywatch polished crystal
wombosi 0 Posted April 7, 2011 Nice job! In my opinion no AR looks much better than that annoying blueish hue. However, it will never defeat properly applied AR. I stripped the AR on all my budget reps as well.
Del 4,499 Posted April 7, 2011 Very good Akira Might try that too!
fine dd 0 Posted April 8, 2011 Well done Akira The problem with cape cloth is only that you can not remove all layer from the old AR. A broadband AR have normaly 5-7 layers and 1 clear etching primer and cape clothes are not strong enough to remove them all - only the visible part. That might be a problem with a new coating. So the safest way to strip the AR is to remove the crystal and strip it with sapphire paste.
Akira 0 Posted April 8, 2011 Thanks for the info Uwe Like I said, this is just temporary... After relume and putting in a new insert I'll enquire your AR prices
