gmchris 68 Posted December 23, 2017 (edited) This was the state of the collection last Saturday, and has been for over a year on a strict one in- one out policy. But on Sunday morning for my birthday she gave me a new watch box. Oh joy! A proper approved watch-buying excuse to go mad Edited December 23, 2017 by gmchris

This one is the Apollo 13, but you can get most missions up to sts135 I think. Edited December 23, 2017 by gmchris

There are two actually. Snoopy Award and the Silver Snoopy Award. Here's an interesting story on how Snoopy came to be on Omega Speedmaster dials. https://www.watchtime.com/blog/fratello-friday-how-snoopy-ended-up-on-an-omega-speedmaster-dial/ Edited December 23, 2017 by mysterio

Snoopy Award and the Silver Snoopy Award. its the same thing ,(at least as far as the awards)recipients can only receive one snoopy award in their life time and it is not awarded post humously Of all the SFA Awards, the Silver Snoopy best symbolizes the intent and spirit of Space Flight Awareness. An astronaut always presents the Silver Snoopy because it is the astronauts' own award for outstanding performance, contributing to flight safety and mission success. Fewer than 1 percent of the aerospace program workforce receive it annually, making it a special honor to receive this award. The award is a sterling silver Snoopy lapel pin that has flown on a Space Shuttle mission, plus a certificate of appreciation and commendation letter for the employee, both signed by the astronaut. CRITERIA Employees must have significantly contributed to the human space flight program to ensure flight safety and mission success. Potential awardees must meet two or more of the following criteria: Significantly contributing beyond their normal work requirements. Performing a single specific achievement which contributed towards attaining a particular program goal. Contributing to one or more major cost saving/cost avoidance. Instrumental in developing program modifications that increase quality, reliability, safety, efficiency, or performance. Developing or assisting with an operational improvement that increases efficiency and performance. Developing a process improvement of significant magnitude. Note: Except in rare cases, the Silver Snoopy award is not intended for supervisors at GS-14 and above, as well as equivalent levels within industry, which would be second level and above. Please note that part-time employees are not eligible to receive this award. the silver snoopy watch is the a13 watch , which has failure is not an option on the dial , which i think is way cool

It says metal from the Eagle landing module is contained in the coin, however the landing module was jettisoned and burned up in the earth's atmosphere, only the command module returned to earth. Maybe just a typo.

Well the next day I got this Rolex 1655 Explorer ll (aka the Steve McQueen by some) as I'm finding my Explorer ll 42mm a big heavy. I was gonna sell that on but I think I'll keep it and try a grey nato. I now also have space for my work watches (Casio dbc610 rep and Lorus Speedmaster homage) Maybe time for some old seikos and I need to fix my broken Casino Royale Planet Ocean.
